INTERNATIONAL TRADE MISSION CALI - BUENAVENTURA 2023

Between November 27 and 29, 2023, the 6THRGCC organized the International Trade Mission: Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean to Colombia, in Cali and Buenaventura (Valle of Cauca, Colombia). This Program was conceived to promote trade integration between Colombia and African countries, connecting and supporting economic growth and development in Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean. The objective was to expand commercial alliances to benefit Colombia’s business fabric with the African continent, while promoting a positive image of Colombia.

In this International Trade Mission, various conferences were held on business opportunities with the Colombian Pacific, entrepreneurship, motivation for the economic development of youth and women, product marketing, exchange of contacts in networks, Networking, training on the B2B businesses and knowledge about export processes in the Port of Buenaventura.

The event had the participation of businessmen, entrepreneurs, Afro organizations and institutions from Colombia. Organizations, businessmen and representatives from Honduras, Haiti, Canada and the United States also attended. The special invitation was for enterprises from various African countries such as Ghana, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, South Africa, Senegal, Cameroon, Rwanda. Unfortunately, the Government of Colombia did not approve the visas of the Africans who were ultimately unable to participate in the event in person. However, this was not an impediment to 6THRGC being able to continue moving forward.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE MISSION MEDELLIN 2023

To achieve the dreams of social justice, the 6THRGCC has deepened this idea by holding meetings, bilateral meetings and events with Colombian communities, institutions and organizations located in the cities of Medellín (Antioquia), Buenaventura and Cali (Valle del Cauca) and San Andres (San Andres and Providencia), in order to update the diagnosis of their needs, challenges and potential in commercial matters. In February 2023, Dr. Melida Harris Barrow continued the International Trade Mission Program in Medellín, bringing a group of investors from the US who wanted to learn about the projects of local organizations and institutions. The idea is to begin the foundations for the 2nd Journey of Reconciliation of Mother Africa and her Diaspora.
